ABOUT IRA PLANT BIOTECH
In recent times, we have seen that chemicals play a major role in agriculture and horticulture. These chemicals include inorganic fertilizers, pesticides, growth enhancers etc. These might result in improving agricultural yield in the short term, leading to better profits. However, these chemicals used in agricultural fields contribute to the rupturing of soil structure and polluting the surroundings, thereby damaging the environment. The chemical fertilizers lead to lowering of the soil quality, thereby necessitating a continuous supply of chemicals for improving the yield. On consuming such chemical treated plant products, humans, animals and birds succumb to various diseases and finally to death. People tried to switch to Organic fruits, vegetables and cereals to overcome this. However, they were unsure whether the products were really grown using the pure organic materials.
Recognising the need for a pure organic nutrient/supplements which would enhance yield, with minimum water usage and be tasty and nutritious, Dr Suman Kashyap started to think of innovative ways to solve the problem. She wanted to devise an innovative product to help and nourish soil, help natural growth and development of plants and its products and to protect the environment. She wanted a product devised scientifically, but be accepted and adopted by traditional farming community. Consequently, this Organic Plant Medium would reduce the risk of exposing humans and other living creatures to various diseases and the damage caused to mother earth.
To put scientific theory into a product that could be generalized, Dr Suman Kashyap founded IRA PLANT BIOTECH - Empowering plant growth ….. Scientifically, in April 2023. The primary focus of IRA PLANT BIOTECH is to supply plant growth supplements for the growth and development of plants in a natural way. IRA PLANT BIOTECH products use constructs of Biotechnology, Vermitechnology and Nanotechnology. Products like IRA PLANT -PEARLS, SHILAJIT AND APAS and many more to follow in future, will play a significant role in the organic farming of varieties of vegetables, fruits, flowering plants, ornamentals, desert plants (cactus) and field crops viz., rice, millets etc. These products will help in enhancing the fertility of the soil, nourishing the plants and its produce. With continued scientific research and customised media development, IRA PLANT BIOTECH will be focusing on the development of wide range of products that are engineered to suit various agro-climatic conditions, thus enabling us to cater to domestic as well as international markets.

About Dr. Suman Kashyap............
Dr. Suman Kashyap, graduated from BMS College, Bengaluru and finished her postgraduation in Biotechnology from Bengaluru University. In 2004, when she started as Research Project Assistant working on Nanotechnology, she helped in designing a target specific nano-chip and sensor for the life-threatening diseases like- Atherosclerosis and Nephrolithiasis. She felt her calling in core research of Biotechnology, and obtained her Doctorate in Life Science in 2015, under the guidance of Dr Radha D Kale, who is one of the foremost pioneers in the field of Vermitechnology, she later got her Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) in Biotechnology in 2020, and her work was highly appreciated.
Having research and Teaching as her core strengths, she has taught students in several prestigious colleges and universities like Home Science College, Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru., St, Aloysius College, Mangalore., PES University Bengaluru, Dayanand Sagar University and Jain Univeristy, Bengaluru. She has been a Research Guide for under graduate (B.Sc and B.E), post graduate (M.Sc) and Ph.D students. She is well experienced in setting up Plant Tissue Culture Laboratories for research and academic purpose. She has been on the Organizing Committee of various National and International seminars, conferences and workshops which have received accolades from the students, teaching community and from officials. She has chaired several scientific sessions at international and national conferences. She also has enlightened the audience with her impressive guest talks and webinars delivered virtually at International Conferences during COVID.
With a decade of Teaching and Research experience, Dr Suman Kashyap has expertized in standardization of chemical free formulated organic plant tissue culture medium for the Micropropagation studies of endangered medicinal plants and economically important plants. More than 60 plant species have been studied and micropropagated in vitro and she has documented the same through various modes. Her research is well read and well cited in various international scientific journals, and has become the starting point of reading for new research in the same field.
She regularly writes about Biotechnology, Vermitechnology, Nanotechnology, and Sustainability topics in various national and international journals as well as book chapters where she spreads awareness about environment and its protection. She has several International and National Journal publications, and has authored chapters in renowned books by Springer, Nature and Routledge (Taylor & Francis Group).
She is a certified reviewer for European Journal of Medicinal Plants, African Journal of Biotechnology , International Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences, Plant Science Technology (PST) to name a few. She is a Recognized Editor at Acta Scientific and Iterative International Publisher (IIP).
She is also a Member of Society for Biotechnologists (India), Member of Science Publishing Group (SPG) and a Life Time Member of Institute of Scholars. Honored with “Research Excellence Award 2020” from Institute of Scholars for her excellent contribution towards ‘Indian Journal of Experimental Biology’.
With such a vast experience in various areas of Biotechnology, Dr.Suman Kashyap founded IRA PLANT BIOTECH, to devise an innovative product to help and nourish soil, help natural growth and development of plants and its products, protect environment. This would aid in bringing healthy solutions for the betterment of the people and the society.
